Introduction to Adult Reading Discussion Series: An Upstate New York Frame of Mind 

“An Upstate New York Frame of Mind” will use fiction to explore different time periods and locations in New York State. There will be six monthly sessions in total: a session to introduce the series theme followed by five sessions to discuss each of the five novels. Participants will read the following works: "The Damnation of Theron Ware" by Harold Frederic, "Ironweed" by William Kennedy, "The Falls" by Joyce Carol Oates, "Nickel Mountain" by John Gardner, and "Nobody’s Fool" by Richard Russo. Participants will receive a free copy of each book. This series is sponsored by grants from Humanities New York and the Friends of the Lyons Public Library.
